We try to be played it pretty explicit in the instructions and telling you what kind of fridge and where it should be located.
Sorry that didn’t help you.
You could try putting it indoors on and open wire rack in the kitchen fridge and see if the color change starts happening.
Otherwise, best to trust your nose. The smell of dry aging “funk” is quite different from rotting meat.
