I think you’ll be fine. If say it was open for the full 5 hours then mathematically it took the interior 5 hours to warm say 8 to 10 degrees. At the 2.5 hour mark it would have only been 4 to 5 degrees warmer. Say that was your regular refrig with food in it – would you throw away the contents because it was 42°? I doubt it – so I wouldn’t panic and throw out the meat! I still hope you have put something on that door to prevent it from happening again though.
