My food saver seems to decide when it’s tip to seal even if I’m standing there pushing the air out.
So I have to quickly open up the chamber, which is being sealed and suddenly I have a half seal. Not fun I watched T-ROY COOKS
And his seems to go on and on and on… until I am out of breath just watching his suck away…..
I can’t seem to find is model out there any more, FoodSaver SportsPlus, does any one know what is the latest model that will allow me to suck away Like good Ol’ T-Roy Cooks?
April 10, 2015 at 11:11 pm #9109Ron PrattMemberAmazon sells that Gamesaver Sports Plus model, but for openers please tell us what model Food Saver you are using. Ron
April 10, 2015 at 11:20 pm #9111JoeMemberI have used foodsavers, and when they seem to take too long it is because there is an issue with the textured part of the bag sealing, preventing the air from being sucked out, in the case of Umai bags it is the vacumouse that you need to make sure is able to let the air escape. Sometimes this can be done by simply re arranging the bag.
April 10, 2015 at 11:57 pm #9113Ron PrattMemberGood catch, onoboe! I just assumed that he was using a VacMouse since he has posted here before and just now brought up this issue! Ron
April 11, 2015 at 1:16 am #9114corey arzoumanianMemberI thought I replied? it looks like it was not posted, OK here goes again.
I found many different gamesavers on amazon
1. GameSaver
2. GameSaver Deluxe Vacuum Sealing Kit
3. GameSaver Pro Vacuum Packaging System
4. Gamesaver FSGSSL0800-000 Titanium Game Saver
5. GameSaver Probut not T-Roy’s Gamesaver Sports Plus
I have a COSTCO 2400 series (I will confirm the model and get back to you all)
I do use the Vac Mouse it’s very helpful.
Are there any other units that anyone knows of that does not have the automated sealing?
I’m working on SIRLOIN’s now and they are not as easy as a rib eye or a NY Strip, or a tenderloin.
April 11, 2015 at 1:17 am #9115corey arzoumanianMemberHere is a link to a photo of the sealer
as you can see there is a DRY/MOIST buttom, a SEAL button and a VAC/SEAL button… I want just a VAC button lol
April 11, 2015 at 1:41 am #9116Ron PrattMemberI’m trying to help you – OK? I happen to have a real older model 1050 which has a switch hidden under the lid which simply controls the time before sealing. The older ones did not sense moisture. I have been told more than once that these can be found for peanuts in garage sales! If you find one and it runs then BUY IT!!! I have also used newer models in the 2200 series. UMAi sells a model in the 2400 series that also works well! BTW FS models change frequently but most times they are a marketing ploy of what is packaged with the “model” more the unit itself.
April 11, 2015 at 1:45 am #9117JoeMemberI don’t know of any units that do vac only.
If it is a sporadic problem. Check to make sure the sealer bar is cool before you put the bag in. If it is warm enough it will soften the ridges in the bag, or Vacmouse, enough to collapse the ridges preventing the air from being sucked out.If it does not work at all, then it is time for a new unit. These units do wear out.
April 11, 2015 at 1:58 am #9118Ron PrattMembersorry to sound like a broken record, but what is the model number? I can’t make that out in the photo link you posted. Ron
April 14, 2015 at 11:17 pm #9133corey arzoumanianMemberI bought a new machine, I’ll test it out and let you all know the results!
I bought Foodsaver T000-03450 Game Saver (hoping that’s the model)April 15, 2015 at 12:05 am #9134Ron PrattMemberquote corcraig” post=6689:I bought a new machine, I’ll test it out and let you all know the results!
I bought Foodsaver T000-03450 Game Saver (hoping that’s the model)That should work! BTW…thanks for the edit…we try to be helpful here.
Now, do me a favor when you get your new machine. Don’t waste all your bags and Vac-mouse strips trying to get the hang of it. Start by not trimming off any of your bag and then if it doesn’t seal right, just cut off that part and seal again. I must have sealed my first bag 6 times until I learned how the machine was going to work! Ron
April 15, 2015 at 3:34 am #9135Victor ArzabeMemberI was at it for TWO HOURS, TWO different food savers (V2860 & V3825) TWO WASTED BAGS and could not get it to seal or vaccum properly!! The bags are too thin.
After viewing vídeos, reading posts and endless cursing and frustration I gave up and emailed for a refund. It’s a real shame because I was so excites when my order arrived.
GOOD LUCK!April 15, 2015 at 4:28 am #9136corey arzoumanianMemberSorry RRR, I didn’t see that you posted a response, I am just learning, the way of the board so I made the edit.

April 15, 2015 at 4:36 am #9137corey arzoumanianMemberI would keep at it. were you using the vacmouse? if yes then post pictures, if not you must try again.

I can see the Food Saver link, but not the picture you tried to post. Key is if this new one is working for you then you’re all set! Ron
