Berkel 825A
The Berkel 825A slicer is a good economy slicer that is sort of in between entry level and top tier commercial slicers, and even though it is the next series slicer in Berkel’s gravity feed line, it still can only handle around the same daily usage as the lesser 827E slicer can.
It has a 1/3 horse power motor and has a 10 inch blade making it perfect for those who only require a slice that can handle light chores occasionally throughout the day…more specifically for folks that plan on slicing meats and cheeses for only 2 to 3 hours max with very little to zero frozen product slicing which is reserved for higher end, more powerful slicers.
For that, I recommend researching Berkel’s X13 series slicers, Globe slicers, or Hobart slicers.
The Berkel 825A meat slicer is good for folks who want a quality slicer that sports a 10 inch blade and is more ideal for professional kitchens or businesses that do the above mentioned occasional slicing.
This unit is not recommended for folks who have a sandwich or deli business as the constant usage will weaken the belt drive system and/or burn out the motor rather quickly.
However, for the money this item is one of the best 10″ blade slicers available, (we’ll quickly go over some comparisons below).

For folks who feel they do not require the 2 to 3 hours a day slicing the Berkel 825A is good for and only require a meat slicer, (very little cheese slicing) for around an hour a day, for less money, please consider the Berkel 825E (same blade length).
