Andy StarvaskiI used the RANCO ATC to control the temperature on my under the counter fridge.
My friends who do home brewing have since been told that this unit will also work on a freezer.
It’s a pretty straight forward set up. There are two RANCO’s models available one for a few dollars less requires you wire in the cables yoursefl, or for a few dollars more you can get the RANCO with the plug and cable all wired up.
1) set the freezer to the coldest setting.
2) plug the freezer into the RANCO unit
3) Plug the RANCO into the wall outlet.
4) Run the RANCO temp probe into the freezer. You can run this between the frigde and door
Now just simpley set the temperature on the RANCO Unit that you want to have the freezer set at and what diferential you prefer (the margin of temperature flux you want before the Ranco turns the compressor on.) I have mine set for 36 degrees +- 2 degrees.
I wish I knew that a freezer would have worked before I bought my under the counter fridge, as freezers were significantly less $$ money than a quality fridge.
