Here’s another point for those who may have older models. For instance my 12 year old model 1050 has a hidden switch under the lid that allows me to manually change my sealing from 3 second to 5 seconds. The slider switch is that white “thing” about in the middle of this picture. The 5 second setting works for me. Later models have a sensor, but with some things in life newer doesn’t always mean more flexible! LOL
