Got any pictures? My thought is since you decided to place two 4 pounders you were already risking contamination which obviously has already become obvious. My suggestion is to NOT worry, but go ahead and cut your loss and end the aging now – trim and enjoy your first attempt. In the future please start with one single larger piece of meat and let her rip many days longer! Ron
