Yes – there can be and now especially since you added that brisket that had previously been wet aging. Personally I find the wet aged smell to be strong and almost offensive! If your refrigerator is operating properly and turning over the air then in time the smell should diminish. Aged beef will have a nutty, earthy smell. BTW did you rinse the brisket before bagging it? Ron
