I’ve never tried it, but it sounds like it’d make sense to me. May need some type of screen at the bottom of the press to cover the exit hole so you don’t just squeeze the fruit out like sausage. I usually use a laundry bag to “contain” my must in the primary, so that may also work to keep stuff from getting squished out.
