Thanks for the quick reply. I had a couple of Bass Pro Shop gift cards to burn, so ordered up a FoodSaver GameSaver Wingman this morning (https://goo.gl/R7uLvu). I think I killed my V2224 by not resting the machine between vacuum/seals. With all the cheese and meat I package, I probably overheated the motor. Doing research, the GameSaver versions are designed for consecutive vacuum and seals for packaging large game. I should be good.
Thanks for the info on the freezer paper. I usually just vacuum pack my bulk meat because I almost always sous vide my steaks. Makes it easier to just defrost and throw the meat into the sous vide tub.
