MemberWould you mind elaborating why you decided to go a different route? Is there a better solution out there?

GuestNot sold on the flavor.
If I do anymore dry bagging I will try the nylon stocking with a straw idea.
Using a nylon stocking is the best idea I have found on this forum.

MemberI admit – I got involved in this a long while ago and then life got really busy and I’ve been away.
My Simbo sealer has a loose solder connection somewhere- I have to bang on the top to get it to work- and I don’t know if it’s worth more to try and figure this out, or to just buy a new one.
And I thought I saw something about using a stocking to make the bag adhere to the meat, but it sounds like you’re talking about avoiding the drybag altogether.
There is so much going on that I haven’t seen. Maybe you’re talking about using a drybag, and using hose (and the straw) to get the close adhesion that is recommended. And then let the drybag do its thing as normal.
I’ve missed lots of discussion in the forum. I’m not sure how to catch up.

GuestNot sure if my Quick Reply posted.
Use a stocking over a drybag to get great adhesion.
Use a straw instead of a sealer.
Not sure this actually works as I haven’t tried it yet.Toy Man

MemberOK. Thanks for the tips.
At this point I’m thinking about getting one of the chamber sealers – but I’ll have to ask my daughter “Do you want a car, to drive the six blocks between here and school? Or do you want an entry-level chamber sealer and some decent aged steaks every month?”
Truth is – I don’t know which way she’d go.
