Hey guys, just wondering if anybody has had a chance to try the mouse thingys yet…..do they work good, and can they be used with any food saver unit? I am hoping this is the answer, I am opening a sub primal strip this Thursday and am nervous, it was the worst for air to date, I sure hope this works, getting tired of the anxiety I get sealing these things up.
RRP thanks, I didnt notice the thread that was there. I have a question for you. If a piece of meat had gone bad, would you be able to smell it through the bag? I have a primal that I put in the fridge a few weeks ago, and it has more air in it than id like. It looks ok, its nice and dark, but im leary.
I’d say a good nose could detect some bad meat through a bag, but to accurately make that distinction between potentially bad and the earthy smell given off by aging meat might be more difficult. If you think there is a problem and don’t want to wait longer to make sure of the smell by opening then why not cut a small corner, take a good whiff – and then if OK just suck the air out and reseal without removing it form the bag? Personally I doubt your meat has gone bad in that short of a period unless it had bacteria on it before bagging. Let us know the outcome! Ron
