MemberI wanted to know if the UMAI bags will work with chamber vacuum sealers such as the VACMASTER VP215.
Although I have already purchased a foodsaver it seems that the chamber sealers are more powerful and produce a better bond to the meat.
Once again, thanks to all of you. Please remember that I am new on the block 🙂
Thanks
Paulo

I dont think the UMAi bags will work very good with this chamber sealer. If i am wrong i’m sure someone will advise.
Why dont you try one of the other VacMaster sealers like i am thinking about.
Models
Pro 260
Pro 140
Pro 110I’m thinking on the 260 or 140. I’m sure they will work with the UMAi bags.

MemberPaulo – An expensive, powerful chamber style vacuum sealer is neither necessary nor desirable when utilizing this product. UMAi Dry® merely needs to come into contact with the meat surface, be closed off, and allowed to bond.
Using UMAi Dry® means you can spend your money on good meat, not expensive equipment!

MemberI’m tired of throwing away foodsavers because of heavy use. I went through 2 FS Gamesavers at the tune of $199 ea. I’m going with the pro260

MemberRick, I understand your comment – trust me, I do…but with UMAI Dry you honestly don’t even need a sealer! There are tricks to removing as much air as really needed from a UMAi Dry bag so that It can adhere to the meat for dry aging. Ron

MemberBefore I actually modified my vac sealer, I wrapped the Coppa’s in the UMAi bags and put them in elastic netting.
The coppa’s dried real well up to 40% weight loss.
I didn’t post any pictures as we all know what the finished product looks like.
I have 2 grades of elastic netting, the standard variety and the heavy duty one. Actually they both do the job very well.
Cheers,

MemberOhhh… Interesting… Please correct me if I am wrong. By applying the elastic netting on the UMAI bag, as the meat loses weight, the netting tightens up around the copa keeping the UMAI in contact with it at all times??
Also, I am interested on the modification you have made on your VAC Sealer and what is your feeling about it please.
Thank you guys 🙂

MemberThere are instructions on this forum about altering vacuum sealers. That actually got me into gear about modifying mine. Since they are all a bit different, watching the video gives you some idea where to start and what to alter. It’s a simple procedure.
The elastic netting keeps the plastic bag tight around the drying meat all the time.
Have a go Mate, be a dare devil !!!!!!!!!
Good luck,
